Essay types

In high school, students are taught to write essays in high school. Most students are encouraged to write an essay by the close of the school year and also. Argumentative essays will generally have all of the facts in the essay, along with any supporting evidence in order to support the argument of the essay.

Textual analysis essays usually require students to look over the meaning of a phrase, sentence, or text passage using sources from many disciplines. The student must be able to discern the significance of the passage and determine the relationship between ideas and facts and then defend their conviction or opinion. An argumentative essay requires more organizational skills than the textual analysis essay. Additionally most texts require the student to explain how their viewpoint is in line with the entire field, much more so than an argumentative essay does.

Compare and contrast essays analyze and contrast one or more texts, arguing either or against them in the section that is assigned. Although many college essays are written this manner, some professors expect students to write more impressive essays. These professors want their students to be able to comprehend and comprehend the essays they write, particularly if they are to compete for grade points. Some college teachers may view a compare and contrast essay as a slam, or even argument, on a different’s views or position.
